COVID-19- Swanky Tips on postponing your wedding!

COVID-19 Coronavirus Wedding and Event Planning It’s no secret the COVID-19 coronavirus  crisis has disrupted the wedding and tourism industry, especially in Florida. Postponing your wedding is better than outright canceling. According to the CDC, they have recommended all weddings should be “cancelled” for the next 8 weeks (mid-May)! You've planned everything for months on end and now it all comes to a stop. But, it doesn't have to!  There is constant information and news updated every day. Here are some helpful tips for wedding postponement due to coronavirus   No matter your situation, it's important to remember to keep calm—and carry on. COMMUNICATION IS KEY EVERYONE is being effected by COVID-19. First, chat with your vendors! Make sure they outline their policies about postponements and cancellations with you. MOST vendors understand these hard times and will work with you. As planners, we want this to happen for you.  Couples deserve to celebrate! Are you thinking about canceling out right? Keep in mind, some vendors may not give you your deposit back. Usually it's per their contract, and also helps their business going. However, the rest of your balance could possibly be refunded on a case by case basis. The best thing to do is POSTPONE your event and make sure all your payments transfer to the new date. MOST IMPORTANTLY make sure your vendors are AVAILABLE for the new date. Its more likely, vendors are available on a Sunday or during the week. Be patient as the event industry has been hit hard and many vendors are on a limited work schedule or furloughed until further notice. Let your guests know a head of time! Add a short blurb about your new postponement date/or [...]

Winter Wonderland Weddings

As event planners, we find that it's not uncommon to see weddings being planned around the holidays. It's a convenient time where your family is already together visiting and celebrating. So why not have your wedding at the end of the year, or the beginning of a New Year?! All though the holidays are mostly in the "winter" months, we have found some inspiration for a white wedding. If your hearts desire is for a winter wedding, look no further because we have some great ideas for you!   Arctic Arbors Finding venues that have a winter sparkle make for a great winter theme. Make it a cozy spot near a fireplace, or an arbor featuring frosted pines. A solid winter theme doesn't have to be ice-cold, but nice and comforting to your guests with your venue and backdrop scenery. There are some destination venues that you can get married in igloos. If an igloo isn't your thing, add specialty lighting with snowflakes, or twinkles for an elegant touch. Florals That Will Make You Melt Touches of frosted pinecones, and frosted greenery make for great additions in any wintery bouquet. You don't need to have white flowers to make it feel wonderland like. Adding deep reds and blues into your flowers can make it look just as cool. Cozy Centerpieces No need for floral arrangements, when you can use mini Christmas trees, floating candles, and tree bark to complete a winter look. Beautiful white satin linens can be an elegant touch that will help feature a colorful centerpiece. Cranberries, pines and even silver ornaments make for subtle wintery touches to your decor. Creative signage to add to your tables, and event [...]

Pros of Paperless Invites Vs. Paper Invites

I am not sure about you, but when I receive any form of wedding invitation, save the date, or thank you card it immediately goes on my fridge. I love having a subtle reminder every day that I have a wedding to go too. However, if you are a budget bride and don't realize how expensive stamps are, maybe considering an e-vite is a good idea. A book of stamps (usually 20 stamps) can cost anywhere from $10-$15 dollars depending on style.   Pros of Paper Invites It's nice to have the traditional piece of elegant paper on your fridge or calendar for subtle reminders A paper invitation can give a sense of theme to the event An opportunity to be creative and unique with the design through multiple sources of websites. Stylizing your invites are endless options! Everyone has a physical mailing address compared to an email or facebook A little more private and less of a risk for being exposed to unwanted comments or guests Cons of Paper Invites Not budget friendly at all. You're getting double the stamps to send it to your guests, and then a stamp for their return RSVP letter. If that guest isn't attending your event, you just ate the cost for paper, print, the stamps, and your time. For our nature lovers, it's not very eco-friendly either. So those guests that are attending your wedding, let's hope the cherish your invite and not toss it away. The time it takes for you to get everyone's formal titles, addresses and track their RSVPS it's a lot of effort that you may not want to deal with.   Pros of Paperless Invites (E-vite) Low costs or even [...]

This beautiful, historic mansion has the view and the space to host one amazing wedding! Located right on the Sarasota Bay, you can feel the energy from the "Roaring 20s" era still there. Glamorous Gothic Weddings

It's the end of October which is still considered a popular time for weddings to be held. We are nearing the end of fall and creeping into winter. Nature itself is getting ready to change for the seasons and the weather is still beautiful for your wedding day. However, instead of a classic white wedding, the bare trees and Halloween might bring a different vibe to your wedding day. If you're not into the elegant white wedding, a glamorous gothic wedding with darker color schemes maybe more your style. This look is just as beautiful and elegant and does not include tacky Halloween decorations. It takes the "Until Death Do Us Part" to a whole new level. I hope this post inspires you to think differently and see that there is more than just white and gold weddings. Themed Invitations & Stationary Start showing your theme and preparing your guests right from the beginning with your invitations. A darker color scheme using black, plum, dark red and burgundy will set the tone. You could always go further with the gothic theme and include skulls, and make a play on ouija board. Make sure to include on your invites if you want your guests to dress up in costume, or black attire only. Be specific with your wedding, is it a Halloween party, or is it a "Gothic Matrimony".   Dressing the Part If you are not going for a white wedding, maybe you decide to not wear a white dress either. If you are wearing a white dress, add a darker color belt around your waist and let the bouquet pop with darker florals. Your bridal party can play the part with darker [...]
