It’s the end of October which is still considered a popular time for weddings to be held. We are nearing the end of fall and creeping into winter. Nature itself is getting ready to change for the seasons and the weather is still beautiful for your wedding day. However, instead of a classic white wedding, the bare trees and Halloween might bring a different vibe to your wedding day. If you’re not into the elegant white wedding, a glamorous gothic wedding with darker color schemes maybe more your style. This look is just as beautiful and elegant and does not include tacky Halloween decorations. It takes the “Until Death Do Us Part” to a whole new level. I hope this post inspires you to think differently and see that there is more than just white and gold weddings.

Themed Invitations & Stationary

Start showing your theme and preparing your guests right from the beginning with your invitations. A darker color scheme using black, plum, dark red and burgundy will set the tone. You could always go further with the gothic theme and include skulls, and make a play on ouija board. Make sure to include on your invites if you want your guests to dress up in costume, or black attire only. Be specific with your wedding, is it a Halloween party, or is it a “Gothic Matrimony”.

Dressing the Part

If you are not going for a white wedding, maybe you decide to not wear a white dress either. If you are wearing a white dress, add a darker color belt around your waist and let the bouquet pop with darker florals. Your bridal party can play the part with darker colors, or straight in costume.

Chic Gothic Decor

Floating candles, lanterns, and candlebras can set the tone for a dark romantic evening. White, black, or gold candleabras are great statement pieces and add an amazing ambiance to the evening. Tall and small dark floral arragnements with touches of feathers set for a moody tone. In the fall, pumpkins are in full growth and make great touches to outline your aisle, or make part of your centerpiece. Welcome or Sign-In tables are a great way to incorporate some fun props to complete your look and get guests to really appreciate your unique atmosphere.

Gothic Blooms

Small or large bouquets can be as a statement piece depending on the florals used. Black calalilies and plum flowers with touches of white and green photograph well. Some of these bouquets have the unique touch of brooches, buttons, and feathers. Either way these are all so beautiful to not consider!

Freaky Food & Favors

Just like any wedding, there is usually a gathering with food and booze. Colored drinks or rimmed glasses, and fun labels to put over bottles and candles will complete your theme. If allowed in your budget, fun favors can be given to guests as a memory piece. Here are some fun ideas to incorporate in your gothic glam wedding day!
