Wedding Cakes that are anything but CAKE

There are several different key characteristics that come to mind when you hear the word WEDDING. White dress, lots of flowers and the Wedding Cake! Keeping the details fun and unique seems to be turning into a trend of its own- especially when it comes to the ‘sweetest’ part of the night. Here’s a couple of different contributors to switching up the first slice as husband and wife.  Crepe Tower Oreos Cheesecake Get creative! Add strawberries and brownie chucks to really make your guests salivate! Belgium Waffles or even Pancakes! A bacon n eggs topper will definitely bring smiles to your guests face! Cannoli's Bundt The more the merrier! Macaroon Ice Cream Theres several different options when it comes to ice cream. Whether you are taking it literal and doing an icecream cake. An ice cream cart. Or ice cream sandwiches. Cheese Tower Pork Pie Tower Consists of roughly chopped pork and pork jelly sealed in a hot water crust pastry Black Forest Pavlova Crispy shelled meringue with a chewy marshmallow interior Strawberry Tower   Pie Pops Mini pie pops are a guaranteed crowd-pleaser any time of year Doughnut Tower Rice Krispy Cakes

Top Wedding Trends for 2017 Continued!

Thought we were done?? We were just getting started! Let’s keep things rolling with more of the top trends for the upcoming year!!  Macramé  Now is the time to wish you had paid closer attention to your grandmother while she knit you a scarf! 1970 might have had its highlighting moments with macramé, but it has been making its way into more and more weddings in renewed and unexpected ways! It is a perfect accent for the bride who is looking to keep a boho flare to their special day!    Rompers In our last blog, we talked about floral bridesmaid dresses- well the fun doesn’t stop there! Everyone knows that the bride tribe is the best possible team of ladies you could ask for. So, here’s a new flare to keep your ladies comfortable and ready to party all night long- ROMPERS! I’d have to say my favorite part about romps is the ability to wear normal bras! Everyone hates having to tug up a strapless or worry if the sticky part on your sticky bra will make it through the night! The only ‘bad’ part about the one piece is a little added effort in going to the ladies’ room, but it’s well worth the cute and versatile look!  Geodes & Agates Weddings Rock! Literally. Yes, rocks…but not the dirty ones in your backyard. Geodes, rocks with sparkling crystals on the inside; and Agate slices, which have a unique pattern of vibrant and soft colors and a rich tone and texture to any wedding. From table numbers to place cards to cake toppers, these gems have been found at elegant ballrooms to rustic barns!  Stained Glass Cakes Stained [...]

Kelsie & Austin’s Siesta Key Wedding

Ceremony Location: Sunset Beach Resort Siesta Key Reception Location:Sunset Beach Resort Siesta Key Donuts : La Dona Donuts Caterer: Sarasota Catering Company Food Truck: Baja Boys  Florist: Tiger Lilly Wedding Planning: Swanky Soiree Events DJ: Delite Entertainment Photographer: Alisa Sue Photography Rentals:  Swanky Soiree Events Stationary: Swanky Soiree Events I just loved Kelsie & Austin's wedding! Not only was I a wedding guest but we also helped her plan for the Big Day. She pretty much nailed down all of her vendors within a couple of months ans knew exactly what she wanted. The vibe was a elegant laid back wedding at a private residence on Siesta Key. This venue had SO much to offer. It slept a lot of the bride and grooms family, had a pool, a awesome yard and a private beach with a bon fire. You really can't get much better. Kelsie and Austin did appetizers and a food truck style reception with no formal dinner time. I really like that concept of a less formal dinner and a more casual hang out and socialize style. Delite did a great job of keeping the party going and everyone danced all night. We even extended the reception another hour. This is one of the  perks of a private residence verses a venue where you have to be out at a certain time.  Her colors where champagnes, gold with pops of burgundy, purples and fuchsia in the bouquets and table arrangements. The day was just absolutely perfect, best weather, best friends and family and a amazing couple. Congrats to you both!! We love you!

Top Reasons Sarasota is a great place to have a destination event

1. Sarasota is surrounded by four beautiful and very unique barrier islands. Siesta Key, Lido Key, Longboat key, and the very exclusive Casey Key. All of these beaches offer luxury resorts, condos, bed & breakfasts, and luxury estates. Beaches are easily accessible and parking is free. Siesta Key has recently been rated the #1 beach in the USA. 2. Culture is exploding here. Even Hollywood has discovered our little gem. There is plenty to do for the whole family. Just to list a few popular winners we have the Van Wezel Arts Hall, Ringling Art Museum, Selby Botanical Gardens, Jungle Gardens, Mote Marine Aquarium, G Wiz, The Asolo Theater and so many more. Sarasota is often referred to as the cultural coast of Florida. 3. Weather- The average temperature here is a breezy 74 degrees. July and August do get pretty toasty but the gulf breeze is still nice. 4. Water Everywhere- You name a water sport you want to do and we have it. The most unique thing sarasota has in my opinion are the mangrove tunnels at Lido beach. Kayak or paddle board through there and you will see so much wild life. 5.Activities- Whether you like to golf, boat or go shopping there is always something to keep you busy. St Armand's Circle is a great destination to shop some high end items.  worry they have affordable shops as well. 6. Restaurants- My oh My, does this place have so many delicious places to eat. Many of the places in Sarasota are owned by individuals who have all the right recipes. So much culture in your mouth, um um um. I could go on and on. 7. Picturesque Sunsets- Yes we really [...]
